Stress? Dysregulation? A little lost?

Difficult seasons (empty nesting, perimenopause, grief, divorce, tough job, taking care of parents) can impact your nervous system, making it difficult to regulate your thoughts and emotions. 

During these times of overwhelm and uncertainty, we often become doubly hard and judgy on ourselves, trying to "get on with things" and "get back to normal" but the truth is - this CAN'T BE FIXED BY THE BRAIN AND ACTION.

What we really need is to first, create safety and comfort in our nervous system. 

And to be able to accept and manage our current situation and give ourselves the grace for space.

Working with this Psoas during this Somatic Journey will begin the deep release, relaxation and restoration that your nervous system needs.

Low back, hip or groin pain?

Issues with the Psoas can be presented as pain, discomfort or limitation in the low back, hips, groin and buttocks. 

BUT... this isn't only due to things like sitting down for extended periods or repetitive movements in exercise for example. 

We STORE stress and trauma in our body, not just in the Psoas however the Psoas is known as the muscle of the soul and is linked with the fight or flight (stress repsonse).

The common answer to a tight Psoas is "do more stretching" and yes, stretching can be an amazing tool BUT that will only deal with the physical component.

So, during this Psoas Journey, you'll be doing very gentle and small movements to liberate the psoas not just on a physical level, but on a deep, emotional level too.

I've been seeing a lot of videos online recently with people experiencing what, to me, looks like a traumatic release.

THIS PRACTICE IS NOT LIKE THAT

 
❤️ This is a very peaceful and passive experience
❤️ The intention is NOT to seek out trauma and stress, simply to put your body in a space of safety and comfort so that it can release in the way most perfect for you
❤️ It is a 'no touch' experience
❤️Yes, you might cry, but I have yet to personally experience or witness anything traumatic. It's a gentle and cathartic release
❤️ Just like yoga, it is a practice, so this session is like opening a doorway in to the magic that lies in the practice of Somatics and Nervous System regulation.
